Bras not only cover breasts, they also shape these organs into what is considered by current social norms to be an “ideal” form. 5) Just imagine for a moment that the penis was located on men’s chests in approximately the same place where women’s breasts are located. Now imagine that men covered and enhanced their penises, as women do their breasts. Also imagine that, from time to time, a man might allow parts of this anatomy to show, as some women do from time to time with their breasts (e.g., cleavage). How challenging would it be for heterosexual women to talk to men if this was the case? We would have to train ourselves to stay focused on the man’s face, like men do with women. Do you think women would talk to each other about different men’s penises, with those exchanges extending to the overall sexuality of those men? Do you think women would point? Take pictures? I think so.
