The origins of the Vintage Western Rodeo Country Cowboy Shirt and by the same token and t-shirt date back to the late 19th century, when laborers would cut their jumpsuits in half to keep cool in warmer months during the year. The first manufactured t-shirt was invented between the Mexican-American War in 1898, and 1913 when the U.S. Navy began issuing them as standard undershirts. So, I am wearing something new everyday. The t-shirt was evolved from undergarments worn in the late 19th Century, thousands of years after the invention of writing. One piece undergarments, known as combinations or union suits, were cut down to make undershirts with button closures at the necks. From the late 1880s manufacturers produced original garments, often with short sleeves.The T-shirt in its current form, as a pull-on garment without buttons, appeared sometime between the beginning of the Spanish-American War in 1898 and 1913, when the U.S. Navy began issuing them as undergarments.
