First off I’ll say that if you want to be seen as a professional & taken seriously a tucked in shirt is important. Even if it was a tee shirt it was recommended. He got into nice belts very quickly & even though he’s out of the military now he still invests in good looking belts. Most people ditch the tucked in look when they hang out with friends or on the weekend. There are certain acceptable un-tucked styles as we have become more relaxed in our society. My husband who is from another generation used to tuck his tee shirts in…but in recent years seeing other men have them un-tucked he now doesn’t tuck his in. He was raised as a country boy & it really fit that look. He rarely dresses up in anything other than a tee shirt & jeans because his job doesn’t require him to. He’s a plumber in new construction. As a woman I love a well dressed man. When I see men dressed in nice slacks, a button shirt & it’s tucked in…even if they aren’t in a full suit…it gives me the impression that they are confident, successful & motivated.
